Ryan Hall, who finished second at the 2012 U.S. Marathon Olympic Trails in February, will plan to run the ING New York City Marathon this fall, it was announced today.

The schedule doesn't allow Hall too much of a recovery -- after running in the Olympic Marathon in London in August, he'll then have just three months to recover, rest and train for the 26.2-mile run through New York City.
Hall, the owner of the fastest marathon time ever run by an American (2:04:58, at the 2011 Boston Marathon), won the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon in New York City. He went on to finish tenth at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
In 2009, Hall finished third in Boston and fourth in New York. In 2010, he finished fourth at Boston, and last year, Hall was fourth at Boston and fifth in Chicago. In short, he's one of the greatest American marathon runners in a very long time.
