Weekly Training Rundown July 23-29

I had some fun sightings out on the roads this week. Ya'll see anything neat?

Mayo: 38 of 42 planned miles. Recovered from last week's debacle of a weekend pretty well. Had to cut my long run a bit short due to heat/lack of shade/no more agua but felt good on my recovery run the following day.

  • Tuesday: 7 miles (8:48 pace). Good start to the week. Saw people making out at 6:15 AM.
  • Wednesday: 5 miles (8:58). Saw a cool guy on a bike.
  • Thursday: 7 miles (9:23). Felt good, moved well, and finished pretty strong. Smelled someone smoking weed at 6:30 am.
  • Saturday: 14 miles (10:13). Planned 18 on an out-and-back. Headed west into the wind and with the sun at my back. Realized upon turning around that I no longer could feel the breeze and that the sun was pretty overbearing. Stopped at 14 miles, stood in a fountain, and walked to the Metro to get me home. Sweated EVERYWHERE on the Metro. Oops?
  • Sunday: 5 miles (9:20). Watched Olympics all day (table tennis is the best) then went out to do my recovery run. Legs felt good, though I stopped to walk twice just to avoid over-exertion. Heat broke a bit and there was a breeze, which was really appreciated.

Next week: 7/5/7/18/5. Same plan as this past week. Hopefully I'll get the full 18 in on Saturday.
