Desi Davila, who had to pull out of the Olympic women's marathon in London this summer, will not run the 2013 Boston Marathon due to continued recovery from his stress fracture, according to the Boston Athletic Association (via RW). The entire Olympic women's marathon crew from the United States was planning to run the race, but now only Shalane Flanagan and Kara Goucher will toe the line (barring schedule changes or injury).
Davila finished second in Boston in 2011, missing victory by two seconds. She had finished second in the U.S. Olympic Trials behind Flanagan.
The top finisher at Boston wins $100,000. Davila runs for Hansons-Brooks.
