The buildup to the 2016 Olympics in Rio begins today with the opening of the Diamond League at the Qatar Sports Club in Doha, Qatar.
TV, Streaming, and Results
In the United States, live coverage is available on BeIN Sports with streaming available on BeIN Sports Connect. Coverage gets underway at noon on the east coast and will continue through 2 pm. In Europe, coverage can be found on Eurosport.
If TV and streaming aren't options for you, live results will be posted to the Doha Diamond League website.
We'll be using this thread for live updates and discussion live from Doha on what, to be quite honest, is a crappy internet connection. Hopefully they're just working out some pre-meet kinks because, at the moment, the internet is barely functional for Twitter and email.
It should be an exciting start to the Diamond League circuit as they have assembled quite a field, particularly in the middle distances. The temperatures, as expected, are warm as it is currently listed as 32 degrees Celsius (90 Fahrenheit) on the track. Fortunately, with no races longer than 3000m, nothing is long enough for the heat to be a major detriment.
