Usain Bolt became the only man in Olympic history to take home the 100m and 200m titles three times over as he defeated Canadian Andre De Grasse, 19.79 to 20.02. Bolt jetted out to an early lead over the field, easily making up the stagger on eventual Bronze medalist Christophe Lemaitre. Down the home stretch, Bolt was several meters clear of the field and appeared to even ease up as De Grasse launched a late move to take second.
Bolt now takes aim to defend his title in the 4 x 100m relay, which he won in both 2008 and 2012. A victory in the relay will tie Bolt for most Olympic titles in athletics with Carl Lewis and Paavo Nuumri.
